The figures hold ceremonial staffs or implements and display the stylized facial features and ornate regalia characteristic of Coclé goldwork of central Panama. Large pendants of this type functioned as prestige ornaments associated with status and ritual display. A visually striking example valued for its scale, intricate openwork, and sculptural presence.
